Georgia

Hello, we had a wonderful time in Georgia!  We were there almost two weeks and stayed in Danny and Montine’s new house.  We love the house and in true Montine style, it is beautifully decorated!  They have a room set-up for Jack and one for Ella.

Danny had organized a fish fry for the first weekend we were there.  Lamar and Danny cooked grouper, flounder and frog legs - - it was all great!  I wish I had some now.

Jack and Ella went with Nana and Papa to Offerman.  It was the first time for Ella to ride the tractor.  They love going with Nana and Papa.

Almost every evening we took the kids out in the wagon to ride through the subdivision.

I will post pictures soon.  I left all the pictures on Danny and Montine’s computer in Brunswick and it will take awhile to get them uploaded to my site.

Missouri

We had a wonderful time in Missouri.  We spent all our days with Nana and Papa Wene and Lauren, my niece (Karen’s daughter).  The kids had alot of fun playing together.

The most favorite thing they did was go to the SEMO District Fair and parade.  Jack, Ella and Lauren had a blast at the fair.  There were at least 10 kid rides and they rode each of them about three times.  Jack and Lauren’s favorite ride was the Caterpillar.  It was a mini roller coaster and you could see them holding up their hands in the air to feel the full impact.  Ella’s favorite ride was the spinning tea cups.  Nana and Jason went with us.  The following day was the parade.  Ella loved to watch the bands and as a new one approached she would squeal and beat her hands on her stroller.  Ella is at the “I can walk, I don’t need my stroller stage”, but to give you an idea of how enchanted she was with the parade, she stayed in the stroller for over an hour and a half!  Jack ran out to pick up lots of candy.

Nana took Jack and Ella to story time which Jack really enjoyed.  Ella liked watching the other kids and copying them.  Jack was able to play a game on the computer after storytime.

We celebrated Karen’s birthday while we were there.  We surprised her with a pizza and cake party.  We bought tiara’s and had a really good time.

It had been years since I had been to the Magic House, a special childrens play place in St. Louis.  Nana and Papa took us there. Jack loved the Super Slide which took him from the third floor back to the first floor. Ella didn’t know what to think about her hair standing on end with the magic ball. They both wanted to spend a great amount of time at the play pizza parlor. Jack liked playing at the cash register, taking Nana’s order and answering the phone. Ella liked carrying the pizza around and answering the phone.

Karen and Lauren spent the entire weekend with us before we flew down to Georgia. The kids had a great time playing in the hotel room.
