I am so proud of my little man this morning!
On Monday mornings, Jack’s school has an assembly outside in the courtyard. All classes are in their groups, girls in one line, boys in another. During the assembly the Assistant Principal will ask for everyone who has a birthday to come and announce it. Jack walked right up, was second in line out of six children, and when it was his turn, took the microphone and said, “Hi, I’m Jack and I’m turning 5 on Wednesday.” !!!!!! Wow, I was so proud of him.
He will celebrate his birthday with his class on Wednesday. There is a girl in his class that has the same birthday, so I am taking half the cupcakes decorated for boys and her Mom is taking half decorated for girls.
Jack will have a party on Sunday at a playplace. Look for the posting sometime next week.
Wow. We have been in Australia for more than a year. That is the first thing I thought of when I typed the title for this post. Last year Ben took us to the Blue Mountains for Mother’s Day. It does not seem like a year ago!
This Mother’s Day was so very nice. Ben cooked me my favorite breakfast, french toast. And it was so very good. He added vanilla and used butter in the skillet to make it very yummy. We all went to church and the kids were great! When we got home (well, when we walked across the street since the church is directly across from us) Ben took the kids to KFC to get their Mother’s Day Special Bucket. Yum, yum, it came with a 1L of chocolate ice cream. There were TV advertisements for this special running often, and it seemed the perfect choice to me not cooking. We had planned to take it to the park, but it was raining. Ben and the kids went to the movie store to get me a movie, they let me take a nap, Ben put the kids to bed by himself…yes, it couldn’t have been any better.
Below are some pics we took after church. Please note the beautiful bead necklace; my Mother’s Day gift from Jack. They had a stall at school and they could buy Mother’s Day gifts. He chose this one especially for me. I love it.
My babies don’t often fall asleep on the couch. So I quickly captured a picture of them when they did…
Jack and Ella are both taking swim lessons this term. They both love the water. There is a big toddler/childrens play area at the center.
This was the first time Jack swam (by himself). I said, “I didn’t know you could do that” and he said, “I didn’t know I could either”.
They have a lesson once a week. Jack asks each day if he gets to go to swim class.
